Dr. William Kim is a Professor of Medicine in the Division of Oncology, holds a joint appointment in the Departments of Genetics and Pharmacology, and is a member of the Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Kim received his MD degree from Brown University and completed his medical residency and oncology fellowship at the Beth Israel Hospital and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (Harvard Medical School) respectively. Dr. Kim serves as the Co-leader for Cancer Genetics Program as well as the Co-Director of the Precision Oncology Program at UNC Lineberger. A medical oncologist by training, Dr. Kim treats patients with kidney cancer as well as urothelial carcinoma. His research laboratory focuses on understanding the genetics underlying kidney and bladder cancers.
